The Government of Manipur through Manipur Public Works Department has planned to take up a project on Improvement of raods within Imphal city with rigid pavement including concrete lined drains. This initiative is aimed to enable better urban road infrastructure for Imphal City. The objective is to initiat replacement of roads in selected 550 Km of roads in Imphal City to bring about planned development in transport section which have been in deplorable condition due to lack of dunding. Once completed, the recurring cost for maintenance of roads will be almost minimal as stated above and the vehicle operating cost shall also be minimized due to improved performance of the concrete roads.
