Moirang is a historical place in Manipur famous for its rich cultural heritage erstwhile established based camp of Indian National Army (INA) in 1944. During the 2nd World war, our National Hero Netaji Subhaschandra Boss crossed the Indian border into the territories of Manipur on March, 18,1944 along with his team of soldiers are reached Moirang on 14th April, 1944 the Bahadur Group of the Indian National Army assembled at Moirang and hoisted first time the Tri Colour Flag in the year 1944 at the residential estate of Shri H. Nilamani Singh at Konjengbam Leikai, Moirang and established an Advanced Head Quarter of the INA there.
The Japanese soldiers tirelessly fought against the British Army at the place of Moirang. Shri Hemam Nilamani Singh of Moirang, was not only a very kind hearted persons but also a sympathizer of INA and had extended great helps like, vegetable, food, grains dry fishes, cloths and many others things to the Japanese soldiers. His act of sacrifices is highly memorable and still remembered. The main Objective of Project is to preserve his house as a historic place for the generations to come as a mark of the honor and in remembrance of Historic place. In view of the sacrificing sprits of Shri H. Nilamani Singh and to maintain the historic events, the State Government to protect everlastingly as a symbol of memories of the Nation.
